Staff Accountant

** Hybrid Schedule with 2 days in office. Hours are Monday - Friday 9:30am - 6:30pm EST
PRIMARY PURPOSE :
To ensure balance sheet accounts are stated accurately; to handle bank reconciliations accurately and on a timely basis; and to provide ad hoc reporting and analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
- · Posting received incoming Deposit refunds into Financial System via Journal Entry
· Process and post outgoing Deposit refunds as necessary
· Assist with day-to-day accounting functions for all subsidiary companies as well as provide backup support
· Assist with VISA and America Express dispute program by gathering paperwork and submitting disputes, answering questions from the bank regarding disputes, and updating database with dispute statuses
· Ensure all downloaded VISA/AMEX charges are coded and VISA/AMEX bills are processed timely and accurately.
· Assist with Monthly Close Processes
· Assist department team supervisors and members as needed with backup support, overflow workload and when workload falls behind or when additional coverage is needed due to absences
· Assist with answering phones and providing customer service to our clients
· Provide administrative and other support to company as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience
Four (4) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include two (2) years of accounting or related business experience.
Skills & Knowledge
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
Analytical and interpretive skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
