Position: Graduate Assistant (PT) -- OSETC

Graduate Assistant (PT) – OSETC

Office of Science Engineering and Technical Careers (OSETC) is seeking a part‑time Graduate Assistant to assist in their office. This position is 15 hours a week. Work schedule to be determined, with flexibility approved by manager. Anticipated end date May 9, 2025.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative tasks including preparation of PowerPoint presentations, data entry and analysis, collaborating with web development team for program updates on the website, collating marketing materials and presentations for prospective students, corporate partners and graduate schools.
  • Provide assistance with event planning including supervision of undergraduate student workers.
  • Facilitate projects in an office with other students; serve on short‑term college project teams.
  • Support departmental processes related to student recruitment including contacting prospective students, creating marketing materials, peer advising/mentoring, conducting campus tours and orientation activities, and delivering presentations.
  • Analyze and trend historical data for the OSETC and DDEP programs focusing on matriculation and retention rates and document findings.
  • Perform research in assessment and in locating helpful mentoring and STEM retention sites.
  • Provide support and research for projects, grants, and ongoing departmental activities. Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the Women in Engineering mentoring program, including matching mentors and mentees, scheduling events, and compiling quarterly reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in STEM, is required.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program.
  • Must be proficient in the MS Office Suite, especially MS Access.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
