At Morehouse School of Medicine we’re leading the creation and advancement of health equity. You will find a fulfilling career at MSM! The Office of the Registrar, a division of Admissions & Student Affairs is seeking a dynamic Assistant Registrar to join their team.
The Assistant Registrar, within the Office of the Registrar, oversees the management and supervision of key operational areas within the Office of the Registrar to ensure compliance with state, federal laws and regulations, and school policies. May manage oversight of Veterans Affairs, Georgia Hope Scholarship and transfer credit articulation, and support Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Training initiatives and related policy adherence.
Reviews, evaluates compliance issues/concerns to ensure compliance with state, federal laws and regulations, and University policies. Ensures academic records are properly maintained for all current and former students. Conducts benchmark analyses with peer institutions to stay abreast of best practices and policies. Performs related responsibilities as required.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required. - Experience:
4+ years of related experience at an institution of higher learning. - Experience in Banner, Degree Works Experience with Microsoft Suite
- Education:
Master’s degree preferred. - Experience:
5-10 years of Banner experience - Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong analytics and problem‑solving skills
Assist with daily operations related to the Office of the Registrar including, but not limited to managing all aspects of the data entry, diploma and licensure request, grade entry, scheduling of classes in the Banner system and Degree Works Manage the scheduling of classrooms and other academic spaces. Manage the new student process and attend new student events for the Registrar’s Office.
Process transcript requests in a timely manner. Maintain student records (electronic and hard copy), observing appropriate discretion and accuracy in accordance with internal policies and external regulations, such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Maintain and update the college’s Degree Audit programs. Assist with the planning and implementation of graduation events, including the evaluation of student records and diploma preparation.
Work with academic departments to support regulatory compliance and assist with articulation agreements and other general advisement services as needed. Oversee office filing, answer and return phone calls to the Registrar Office.
