About

The Role

Reporting directly to the Claims Sourcing Manager, the role will be responsible for supporting the contracting of claims vendors, engaging in the collection of vendor due diligence, issuing contract documentation, supporting commercial negotiations, and storing and uploading all commercial agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in end‑to‑end acquisition of smaller vendors with an annual spend of less than $500K for insurance claims processing and adjudication commodities. This includes:
    • Negotiating commercial contracts from AIG’s vendor contract template with claims vendors to be a preferred AIG panel vendor;
    • Participating and leading vendor pricing negotiations;
    • Documenting and summarizing the agreed commercial terms accurately;
    • Collecting and storing all required due diligence documentation in line with the team’s standard operating process.
  • Supporting Claims Sourcing Managers with spend data analysis, data queries, and reporting, which support line‑of‑business vendor strategies or complex / high‑value vendor negotiations.
  • Documenting and updating website pages to ensure business‑facing documents reflect AIG’s commercial positions with vendors accurately and current.
  • Working with claims handlers to understand the claims business area and the cost drivers that result in AIG’s claims total cost.
  • Following legal guidance and other support groups to ensure completion of acceptable contracts.
  • Performing other ad‑hoc assignments to enable AIG to procure services more cost‑effectively.
  • Monitoring and responding to inquiries received by stakeholders and vendors in the team’s inbox.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent combination of experience; insurance or financial services industry preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Property & Casualty claims vendors.
  • Experience working with commercial negotiations and drafting contract.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning (quantitative and qualitative) that can be applied in a problem‑solving scenario.
  • Strong organizational, customer service, leadership/influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis, report on spend analysis, KPIs, savings, trends, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.), MS Word, PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
