Job Summary
Vice President, Capital Markets – IHG Hotels & Resorts
Responsibilities- Develop and enhance IHG’s relationships with traditional lenders (banks) and other debt providers in the hotel industry.
- Partner with Development Marketing to create a marketing and outreach strategy to educate the lender community on IHG’s story and value proposition.
- Serve as IHG’s regional expert on financing options for new build projects (SBA, EB‑5, CPACE, etc.) and take‑out financings (insurance, CMBS, etc.).
- Develop and maintain relationships with key influencers in the community (advisors, mortgage brokers).
- Collaborate with IHG’s Americas Development team and the Capital Investments & Transactions team to help owners of managed or franchised projects obtain financing; act as subject‑matter expert, advisor, or lead negotiator as needed.
- Work with the Transactions & Asset Management team to assist owners and franchisees in restructuring existing debt.
- Meet with owners and franchisees regularly to understand financing partners and terms; build and maintain institutional knowledge of financing activities.
- Proactively educate owners, franchisees, and colleagues about hotel financing through one‑on‑one meetings, webcasts, conference calls, and industry events.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance, real estate, or related disciplines; MBA or related advanced degree a plus.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in hotel development, lending, acquisitions, and complex real‑estate deal structuring.
- Experience with complex negotiations, portfolio transactions, accounting principles, and legal contracts.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with external stakeholders (investors, owners, financial community, brokers, advisors).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to negotiate deals and legal contract terms for high‑profile projects.
- Demonstrated project management and negotiation experience in organizing and executing large‑scale projects, including planning, delegation, and managing financing processes within deadlines and budgets.
- Deep knowledge of the hospitality industry with investment strategy, asset/portfolio management, acquisitions and development experience.
Atlanta, GA or NYC – preferred. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days a week in the office.
Salary & BenefitsThe salary range for this role is $223,700 to $350,000. The role is also eligible for bonus pay. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and additional benefits.
