Director of Kid’s Serve Camp
The Director of Kid’s Serve Camp is a dynamic, energetic leader responsible for planning and leading a summer day camp focused on helping children grow in their love of serving others. This seasonal position runs from May through July and involves curriculum development, staff supervision, partnership with local nonprofits, and day-to-day camp leadership. The Director works closely with the Pastor to hire and train counselors, manage the camp budget and registration, and ensure a safe, positive, and well-organized camp environment.
Ideal candidates have a passion for ministry with children, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage both planning and on-site operations. Experience in children’s ministry is required; knowledge of the United Methodist Church is a plus.
Ten weeks of work total, with 5 weeks being active camp weeks
Reports to Pastor Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and implement camp curriculum and planning activities for 5 weeks of day camp
- Work with area non-profits to form working relationships that campers can learn about and help to serve
- Create camp budget and maintain good financial records
- Work with the church pastor to hire and train counselors
- Plan and purchase supplies
- Oversee registration of campers
- Run and support camp weeks
- Supervise counselors
- Address any issues or emergencies that arise during camp
- Be a good steward of the building and keep everything neat and tidy
- Evaluate camp when the season is over
- Maintain a positive atmosphere for both campers and employees

- Must pass a background check
- Experience with Children’s Ministries
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Knowledge of UMC a plus
