This Industrial Safety Manager position offers the chance to shape and maintain a culture of safety excellence on major projects. As a pivotal safety leader on site, you will drive innovative practices, guide risk reduction initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance—all while supporting the success and wellbeing of project teams in a forward-thinking construction environment.
Responsibilities:
- Identify hazards on site and coordinate effective mitigation strategies following the hierarchy of controls.
- Conduct regular site tours to observe work practices, engage employees, rectify safety deficiencies, and provide coaching.
- Create daily safety reports, documenting observations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Inspect and audit Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and oversee audits such as Rigging, Fall Protection, Assured Grounding, Temporary Power GFCI, and Arc Flash PPE.
- Produce weekly Toolbox Topics tailored to jobsite activities and safety concerns.
- Deliver new hire orientations and conduct ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors.
- Lead accident and incident investigations, determining root causes and driving case management efforts.
- Maintain strong documentation and ensure all safety programs meet OSHA and company standards.
Must-Have
Skills:
- 5+ years of industrial or commercial construction safety experience.
- OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications.
- In-depth knowledge of State and Local Codes, CFR 29, 1926, and NFPA 70E.
- Proven ability to conduct incident investigations and determine root causes with measurable outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and active listening communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice-to-Have
Skills:
- Experience in airport or large-scale commercial construction safety management.
- Advanced proficiency with computers and office technology for report creation and case management.
- Prior experience delivering tailored safety training and managing small to medium teams.
- Positive leadership style with the ability to foster team collaboration and safety culture improvement.
- Professional credentials such as CHST, CSP, or other relevant safety certifications.
