This travel‑based role requires flexibility and relocation. Traveling Construction Field Technicians usually work on projects for about 9 months before moving on to new assignments. We strive to keep projects regional; business needs may require relocation within the continental U.S.
IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Construction Field Technician who will act as a traveling Construction Manager. This is a unique opportunity to assist our Idaho Falls Industrial team with nationwide projects. In this position you will be responsible for assisting with construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, and an understanding of construction processes and techniques.
The Construction Field Technician may be assigned to a construction project or projects to serve as a construction observer to make field measurements, documentation entries and read and interpret plans. Some of these assignments may require temporary relocation.
- Assists with all phases of the construction project which includes planning and scheduling, from implementation to close out
- Assists with coordination with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
- Develop and maintain project schedules, Conduct regular site inspections to assess project progress, ensure quality, site cleanliness, and safety compliance
- Assist with addressing any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process, implementing effective solutions to keep the project on track
- Ensure adherence to building codes, regulations, and industry standards throughout the construction process
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, prioritizing a safe work environment for all personnel on the construction site
- Prepare and present reports, progress summaries, and other documentation to senior management and clients as required
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organizational and time‑management abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in project management software and tools preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
- Solid understanding of construction safety regulations and protocols
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to construction sites as needed, as well as the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
- Ability to acquire a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card within 90 days of employment
