The Student Center is seeking (1) Stage Manager, Rialto to join the already awesome team taking them to the next level of excellence!
Under the general direction of the Rialto Production Manager, the Stage Manager is responsible for running all aspects of on‑stage performances, including efficiently supervising and leading the backstage labor crew, executing and improving upon advance show plans to create an optimal performance, professionally interacting with clients to prepare for, and execute all show plans, and filling out all paperwork with regards to all circumstances involving the theater and crew.

- Supervision of on‑site crew (including the Master Electrician, Sound Engineers, Stagehands, Spot Operators, Projectionists, Stage Security, Loaders, Wardrobe Personnel, Runners and any other labor needed to ensure the highest quality production possible); and client during performances to ensure that only the highest quality shows occur on stage.
- Oversees set up of all on‑stage events.
- Interacts with sub‑contractors to successfully meet the demands of each individual show.
- Manages all crew members including scheduling and training all crew members to ensure a superior and professional level of craftsmanship on an individual show basis according to the client’s needs.
- Ensures the safety of the backstage crew.
- Keeps the theater running at its highest level of quality and safety.
- Ensures the on‑ and backstage areas are kept exceptionally clean and well maintained.
- Ensuring the maintenance of all Rialto stage and backstage equipment and facilities are on their highest possible standards.
- Keeps equipment inventory and assists in planning replacement equipment.
- Advancing, planning, and preparing of all Georgia State University events that happen on the stage with their individual producers.
- Assist with the technical and production needs of the Rialto's monthly Feed Your Senses program, occurring up to 12 times a year, including assisting with load‑in, set and strike for any sound/lighting requirements for the production, sound check, and performance.
Minimum Hiring
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED and four years experience in stage work; or a combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years professional experience in stage work or similar theatrical experience with significant companies; or two (2) years college plus six (6) years experience in production management; or a high school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of training and experience in production management.
- Understands and effectively uses desktop computer and standard software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, and E‑mail, as well as general office equipment such as printer, photocopier, calculator, and fax equipment.
