Atlanta, GA based independent production seeking a skilled 1st AC for an exciting pilot shoot, approximately 5 shooting days, in early December 2026. This is a character-driven sci-fi drama, blending grounded storytelling with subtle futuristic elements. We're aiming for a cinematic, intimate feel, with practical effects favored over extensive CGI. It's a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a project with strong creative vision and potential for series pickup.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and can help bring our visual narrative to life. Your primary responsibilities will include meticulous camera prep, precise focus pulling, managing media, and maintaining the camera department's equipment. You'll be working closely with our Cinematographer to ensure technical excellence on set. We need someone who is organized, proactive, and has a sharp eye for detail.
This role requires reliable transportation to our set locations within the Atlanta metro area. Applicants should have at least 2-3 years of professional experience as a 1st AC on independent narrative projects (features, shorts, pilots). Proficiency with professional cinema cameras (e.g., Arri, RED, Sony Venice) and related accessories (wireless follow focus, monitors) is essential. While we have some gear, we prefer candidates who can provide a basic 1st AC kit, including tools, monitors, and essential accessories.
The day rate is $150-300, based on experience and kit. Long days (10-12 hours) are typical on set, and meals will be provided. We're looking to fill this role fairly quickly, so please apply by November 17, 2026.
Budget Range
$150-300/day
