Design Manager of Global

Description

As the Design Manager of Global Applications, you will be responsible for managing our key Meltwater design system and AI‑driven platform experiences. You will play a key player/coach role, driving intuitive use and industry‑leading outcomes. Your role will involve working with other designers to further enhance global applications and design patterns, ensuring best‑in‑class interaction design, visual design, and new AI products.

Additionally, you will be responsible for one direct design report to support Meltwater platform efforts.

• Execute and design strong user interfaces, prototypes, wireframes, and visual designs. Use the latest GenAI tools (e.g., Lovable, v0, Cursor) to deliver sophisticated design prototypes and AI‑driven solutions. Work in Figma to ensure pixel‑perfect designs.
• Proactively engage with designers and developers to align with development requirements and system documentation. Partner with the UX research team to identify user pain points, assess products, and uncover UX opportunities.
• Champion user‑centered design principles across all projects.
• Align Meltwater design efforts with core business objectives, execute on UX priorities, and facilitate a robust design process to elevate our UI.
• Oversee a product designer’s work, ensuring high standards in interaction design, UI, and human‑centered design, and produce new design patterns consistent with the platform.
• Collaborate with product managers and UX directors to foster strong design ethics and outcomes.
• Lead teams through ideation, feasibility assessments, and story‑mapping workshops to enhance design and development processes.
• Communicate as a storyteller to cross‑functional leaders, developers, and stakeholders, promoting a holistic view of user experience.
• Conduct UI reviews of design patterns via product‑based evaluations and system‑wide assessments.
• Contribute to design culture while continuously growing the design practice.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Design, Visual UI Design, UI/UX.
• 3‑5 years of experience managing a design team.
• 3‑5 years working in SaaS and enterprise applications.
• Proven portfolio showcasing extensive UX/UI work and experience with AI tools such as Lovable, v0, or Cursor.
• Clear point of view on industry best practices and design principles.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver products focused on final outcomes.
• Strong communication skills for presenting ideas clearly to business stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams to refine and develop UX.
• Expert proficiency in Figma.
• Strong understanding of the Design Thinking process stages.
• Experience collaborating with other designers/design teams for system‑wide improvements.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design or a related field.
• Familiarity with front‑end technologies such as React and MUI.

• Base Salary of $140,000 – $160,000 USD per year plus 10% annual bonus paid in quarterly installments (subject to applicable commission plan terms).
