Officeworks is seeking a talented designer to join our Architectural Solutions department in our Philadelphia, PA office. The designer will provide design services to customers, including shop drawings, specifications, dimensions, details, and hardware related to Teknion Wall product. Works closely with sales, project managers, and coordinators within Officeworks, as well as customers, GC, and design firms, to ensure accurate plans and specifications reach the customers’ satisfaction and highest quality of implementation.
- Attend client meetings as requested by Sales or PM, present plans and information to customers for review & approval.
- Develop shop drawings for client/architect approval and sign off.
- Develop hardware package for client sign off.
- Develop project specification and reviews against plan; gets BOM order entry ready, and spec checks before order.
- Manage changes and revisions.
- Upload current working version of plan with dimensions to Plan Grid for site surveyor.
- Utilize Plan Grid to calculate ceiling heights and ensure all dimensions are aligned from site to drawing.
- Assist PM with punch list as needed.
- Provide list pricing for projects and change orders.
- Maintain detailed and extensive project documentation, including records of all key decisions, phone conversations, approvals, sign offs, and notes from all project meetings.
- Assist with maintaining a project log which includes any change orders and back charges along with general project information. All critical information must be kept on the network.
- Communicate regularly with PM, Sales, and Director on project status, issues & concerns in regard to overall design or schedule.
- Prompt, reliable and regular attendance.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of related experience required.
- Teknion product knowledge a plus.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- CET Designer / Teknion Storyboard a plus
- AutoCAD
- G suite
- Plan Grid
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
