We are seeking a Physician (MD) – Ultrasound Interpretation / Pediatric Hospitalist roles in Atlanta, GA. The department emphasizes advanced neurological and epilepsy care within one of the nation’s leading pediatric neuroscience programs.
OverviewChildren’s Healthcare of Atlanta is expanding its pediatric neuroscience department. The position involves planning, implementing, and evaluating high-quality medical care for children and adolescents in the respective clinical area, with appropriate resource management.
Job DescriptionTo plan, implement and evaluate the provision of high-quality medical care, with appropriate resource management, to children and adolescents in the respective clinical area.
Department and ProgramChildren’s Healthcare of Atlanta + Emory. The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center holds a Level 4 NAEC designation and offers comprehensive acute, chronic, and tertiary care for epilepsy. The center provides innovative therapies and advanced epilepsy surgery, including intracranial EEG, laser ablation, mapping, and neurostimulation devices.
Experience- No minimum experience required.
- Experience in the respective clinical area.
- Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school.
- Graduate of an accredited, post-graduate residency program in Pediatric Neurology.
- Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Neurophysiology.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurophysiology.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.
- BLS or PALS certification required.
- Current DEA registration.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team member.
- Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff.
- Demonstrates skills in personal organization, time management, teamwork, adaptability, motivation, and listening.
- Provides patient care within the respective clinical area in compliance with Professional Staff Bylaws and Children’s policies.
- Participates in Quality Improvement and research integration into practice.
- Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
- Educates and assists trainees with medical decision making.
- Provides authenticated reports of physician services and maintains accurate records.
- Completes necessary documentation and ensures timely communication for patient care and reimbursement.
- Responds to patient and clinical staff questions and requests.
- Participates in meetings/activities to support clinical operations.
- Maintains/obtains required certifications (BLS, PALS, NALS) and other specialty training as needed.
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
