About the Role

The Physician Practice Operations Director works collaboratively with practice physicians to ensure the efficient and effective daily operation of the practice including supervision and evaluation of practice staff, budget management, financial oversight, and business process analysis and redesign.

• Supervise and advise the Practice Managers at assigned practices and support them in managing the practice.
• Analyze access and patient throughput; understand and improve customer satisfaction; conduct productivity analysis and efficiency studies; manage human resources and development.
• Ensure the financial viability of the assigned Physician Practice practices, monitor progress against budget, plan and implement capital expenditures.
• Track progress of business office operations.
• Plan and maintain operating budget on a practice-by-practice level.
• Understand and monitor physician progress on the compensation plan.
• Serve as partner to physicians and liaison between physicians and Children’s Administration.
• Ensure providers understand their obligations under agreements, policies, and procedures.
• Support Clinical and Office Staff in upholding clinical quality.
• Facilitate monthly provider meetings within assigned practices.
• Act as resource for special task forces as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health administration or related discipline.
• Preferred MBA or MHA.

• Ability to build productive relationships with physicians and experience with inpatient and outpatient practice operations.
• Strong command of financial analysis, strategic planning, physician practice operations, and healthcare information systems.
• Skills in conflict resolution, problem-solving, staff development, and time management.
• Personal adaptability, motivation, critical thinking.
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Works well in a fast-paced environment; relational and collaborative.
