Join Our Lower School Administrative Team at The Lovett School!

Are you passionate about elementary education and creating a thriving, supportive environment for young learners? At Lovett, we believe in nurturing the whole child - socially, emotionally, academically, and personally. We’re looking for a dynamic Assistant Head of Lower School for Student Life & Operations to join our leadership team starting July 2026
. This 12-month role is an incredible opportunity to shape the Lower School experience for students, teachers, and families alike.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Champion student life and belonging: Lead initiatives that build community, foster positive relationships, and encourage student leadership.
  • Support teachers and students: Collaborate with faculty, counselors, and the Academic Resource Center to ensure each student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Drive operations and events: Oversee the Lower School calendar, field trips, assemblies, family nights, and creative programming that makes school life exciting and meaningful.
  • Partner with families: Communicate effectively with parents to align on student support, character education, and developmental goals.
  • Mentor and lead: Supervise the Lower School Dean and provide strategic guidance while empowering your team to manage day-to-day operations.

  • Deep understanding of K–5 child development, behavior management, and student support.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in elementary education (8+ years teaching, 3+ years school leadership preferred).

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
