- Teaching courses including applied cello and related areas (such as chamber music coaching, string pedagogy and literature)
- Teaching courses in a secondary area of specialization such as music education, foundation studies (music theory/aural skills or music history), or conducting
- Service, including participation in university and/or departmental committees, activity in professional organizations, active recruitment and participation in outreach activities, and educational or creative activities that contribute to an active portfolio in the field
- Demonstrated excellence and experience in cello performance and teaching required (solo, chamber, and/or orchestral)
- Evidence of qualification to teach in a secondary area (music education, music theory, or music history) required
- Evidence of an understanding of diverse and varied styles of repertoire and performance practice preferred
