Provides Spanish instruction for students which enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards.

• Prepares and plans for instruction of Spanish classes.
• Collaborates in vertical teams with FCS Spanish Middle School feeder teachers.
• Advocates on the importance of Spanish in a global economy, seeking opportunities to study Spanish outside the regular classroom.
• Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County’s curriculum.
• Creates a classroom environment that promotes active learning in the subject area.
• Exhibits knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment.
• Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
• Accounts for student attendance and punctuality.
• Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures, and professional ethics.
• Works collaboratively with other Fulton County Spanish teachers.
• Prepares adequately for responsibilities when absent.
• Facilitates home‑school communication through conferences, telephone calls, and written communication.
• Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction.
• Avoids behaviors that detract from staff morale.
• Performs other duties assigned by the appropriate administrator.

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university.
• Must hold certification in Spanish or meet eligibility requirements to obtain certification: passed the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Written Proficiency Test (WPT) at Advanced Low Proficiency.

• 0‑1 year classroom experience required; high‑school teaching experience preferred.

• Proven communication and instructional strategies.
• Classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
• Excellent organizational skills.

• Classroom environment.

• Ability to lift and carry 30‑50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds.
• May require stooping or crouching.
