The purpose of this job is to oversee summer camp youth and enhance their development through recreational enrichment activities. For seven weeks, we work with youth ages 5 – 12 to promote social, cultural and historical awareness through an activity‑based curriculum.

• Collaborate with staff for the benefit of all camp affiliates.
• Group supervision of campers in activities and daily camp operations.
• Demonstrate paramount human relation skills when dealing with officials, administration, employees, parents, guests, or visitors.
• Promote and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
• Identify and meet camper needs daily.
• Plan and implement recreational, educational, and social enrichment activities for campers.
• Familiarize yourself with camp lesson plans and implement lessons.
• Attend program/staff meetings designated by supervisor.
• Provide superior customer service.
• Maintain facilities and keep supply inventory.
• Instruct campers in emergency procedures.
• Attend meetings, complete reports, and perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; OR admittance letter into a post‑secondary program or some college attendance.
• One‑year experience working with youth or three (3) summers.
• Must pass background checks for criminal and child protective findings.
• Must pass a drug screening.

• City of Atlanta required training June 1st–June 5th, 2026.
• Summer staff required to work an 8‑hour shift Monday–Friday from June 8th–July 24th, 2026; vacation requests during this time will not be approved.
• All summer staff must be actively involved with campers during swim times and wear a bathing suit (one‑piece for females, swimming trunks with lining for males); staff is not required to know how to swim or teach swim lessons.
