Georgia State University’s Perimeter College is a nationally recognized public institution dedicated to providing innovative educational opportunities. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is committed to preparing students for careers in engineering and technology, and invites a qualified instructor to join our diverse faculty.
Responsibilities- Teach at least 18 credit hours of engineering courses per semester.
- Maintain a minimum of 8 office hours per week.
- Adhere to College and departmental policies, practices, and deliverables.
- Work effectively, collaboratively, and professionally with faculty, staff, and students.
- Connect students with institutional resources to promote student success and progression.
- Work effectively in a variety of instructional modalities (online, hybrid, face‑to‑face) and across campus locations as required.
$26,675 per semester (Fall, Spring) for holders of a Master’s degree; $29,250 per semester (Fall, Spring) for holders of a Doctoral degree.
Required Experience- Experience teaching high‑school or collegiate engineering courses as a graduate teaching assistant or primary instructor, or at least two years of professional engineering experience.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in any engineering field (completed by the date of appointment) or a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate credit hours in engineering coursework.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience- Experience teaching a variety of undergraduate college‑level engineering courses.
- Experience engaging with and teaching a diverse student population, as found at Perimeter College’s open‑access institution.
- Ability to teach engineering courses on the collegiate level.
- Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods.
- Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology.
