About the DepartmentThe Social Sciences Department at Perimeter College is a dynamic, multidisciplinary community dedicated to bringing learning to life. The department's 64 full-time faculty are committed to engaging students in an access, 2-year environment in meaningful discussions, hands‑on learning, and real‑world applications of social science concepts. The department offers courses in a wide range of fields, including History, Political Science, African‑American Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Education, Social Work, Gerontology, Anthropology, Homeland Security & Emergency Management, and Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies.
Whether examining human behavior, political systems, social institutions, or cultural identities, these courses provide the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to understand the world and make informed decisions. Many Social Sciences students go on to earn bachelor's and advanced degrees and pursue careers in law, business, education, journalism, criminal justice, and public service. Through their studies, students develop essential skills in communication, creative and critical thinking, research, and scientific inquiry-while gaining a deeper understanding of how people interact, grow, and shape the societies in which they live.

Perimeter College is seeking part‑time instructors in POLITICAL SCIENCE who will play a key role in educating and supporting students.

Required EducationTo qualify to teach POLITICAL SCIENCE, applicants MUST have: A minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in courses designated as Political Science, and not Public Administration or International Relations.
