About the Department

The Department of Fine Arts at Perimeter College offers a range of disciplines including music, theatre, visual arts, and film. Graduates have pursued careers in the arts, education, law, and business.

Position Description

Perimeter College is seeking a part-time violin/viola instructor to teach applied violin and viola lessons beginning in the spring 2026 semester.

Qualifications

Required

Education:

Minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in violin or viola performance or pedagogy.


Preferred Qualifications /

Experience:

Teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to teach Applied Violin and Viola at the collegiate level.
  • Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods, relate to students and facilitate student learning.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology.

Work Hours

Position may require non-standard hours: day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend, and/or other campus locations.

Salary

$3075.00 for each 3-semester credit hour course taught.
