Position Overview

The Part-Time STEM Teacher will be responsible for the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) lessons and activities. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Instructional Delivery: Lead and facilitate hands-on, project-based STEM activities for groups of [Specify age/grade range, e.g., elementary or middle school] students.
• Curriculum Implementation: Successfully implement and adapt pre-developed STEM curriculum covering topics like robotics, coding, physics, and biology.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and exploration.
• Assessment & Feedback: Observe and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting instruction as needed.
• Material Preparation: Prepare and organize necessary materials, equipment, and technology for each class session.

Communication: Maintain professional and clear communication with the Program Director, fellow staff, and, when necessary, parents/guardians regarding student progress and program needs.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, Education, or a related discipline,
  OR equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience working with youth in an educational, camp, or youth-development setting.
• STEM Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge and enthusiasm for multiple STEM disciplines
  .
• Soft Skills: Exceptional classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal background check and all necessary child safety clearances.

• Current state teaching certification/license.
• Experience with specific tools or platforms (e.g., Scratch, Minecraft Edu, LEGO Robotics, 3D printing).

Experience in curriculum design or lesson planning.
