Cafeteria Monitor; Part-Time

Responsible for providing supervision to elementary students during lunch period.
This position reports to the Principal. This is a part-time position typically 2-3 hours per day.

• Establishes acceptable standards of behavior in the cafeteria; supervises students entering and leaving the cafeteria and assists students with the seating process; supervises social behavior of students.
• Enforces cafeteria procedures and rules.
• Maintains an orderly, clean, and appetizing environment for students to eat lunch (i.e., wiping off tables).
• Reports inappropriate student behavior to the appropriate personnel.
• All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience working in a school cafeteria preferred.
• Light independent judgment is necessary. Decisions made on an as-needed basis to establish order in the cafeteria.
• Requires regular contact with internal and external school personnel of decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance. Must be able to work with students in a congenial and nurturing manner.
• Great communication, interpersonal skills are required.
• School setting; primarily cafeteria.
• Light duty - On most occasions standing in the cafeteria; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying 20 lbs. or less.

This is a 180-day part-time position that pays one starting salary.
