SummaryProvides instruction for students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates enthusiasm for working with Pre‑K students.
- Provides content‑related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County’s curriculum.
- Creates a classroom environment that promotes active learning.
- Exhibits knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for four‑ and five‑year‑olds.
- Communicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
- Maintains accurate records of student attendance and punctuality.
- Follows the operating guidelines required by Bright from the Start.
- Complies with all county, state, and federal policies and procedures.
- Adheres to professional ethics in all work‑related activities.
- Attends all required trainings for Pre‑K teachers.
- Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent.
- Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student’s educational program.
- Facilitates home‑school communication by holding conferences, telephone calls, and written communications.
- Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction.
- Avoids behaviors that detract from staff morale.
- Enrolls in the Georgia Professional Development System for Early Educators (GaPDS).
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or another ECE‑related field; alternatively a bachelor’s degree combined with an associate degree majoring in ECE.
Montessori diploma, Technical College Diploma (TCD) with ECE major, Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) with ECE major required, or must hold or be eligible to hold a valid teaching certificate in the applicable field.

Early Childhood Education/ECE‑related degrees and credentials are verified in the Professional Development Registry (PDR) of the Georgia Professional Development System for Early Educators (GaPDS). Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification is verified through review of for all teachers.)
0–1 year classroom experience required; high school teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Proven communication and instructional strategies.

- Ability to lift and carry 30–50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds.
