About the Department

The Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, a Health Coaching Certificate, a fully accredited coordinated program at the master’s level, an MS/DPD, an MS in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition, a PhD in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition, and a PhD in Chemistry with a concentration in Nutritional Sciences. The Department includes 10 full‑time faculty and several part‑time faculty and staff, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.

Faculty research is supported by funding from NIH, USDA, commodity boards, and industry. The Department maintains over 50 agreements for pre‑professional practice experiences with hospitals, community/government agencies, and private organizations. Opportunities exist for joint appointments in units such as Biology, Chemistry, Kinesiology and Health, and Public Health.

Position Description

The Department of Nutrition invites applications for a 9‑month, tenure‑track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional service.
