Adjunct Instructor – Speech; Part-Time

Overview

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking an Adjunct Instructor – Speech (Part‑Time) to teach General Education Communications and Public Speaking courses in the Arts and Sciences department.

• Follow the approved course syllabus and prepare and deliver lecture and lab course material.
• Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records.
• Complete all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintain an accurate inventory of assigned properties.
• Maintain classrooms and labs in accordance with institutional safety guidelines.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Follow rules and regulations of the Technical College System of Georgia and other institutional policies.
• Evaluate students’ progress toward course objectives and prepare required documentation and administrative reports.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials.
• Knowledge of vocational area of assignment.
• Skill in presenting subject matter.
• Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress.
• Skill in using computers and job‑related software.
• Skill in interpersonal relations with adult learners.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of student information systems.

Master’s degree in communication or at least 18 graduate credit hours in Communication from a regionally accredited institution.

• Doctorate degree in communication.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience within diverse settings and engagement with a wide range of student populations.
