The Tactical Recon & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all equipment to test, deploy and operate. The team is responsible for taking products like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt and Altius from paper sketches to operational systems. We work in close coordination with specialist teams to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. We are looking for software engineers, hardware engineers, roboticists, and front-end mobile developers who are excited about creating a powerful robotics platform that can be tasked and viewed in real-time.
ABOUTTHE JOB
The Electrical Test Engineering team at Anduril Atlanta develops test systems used to ensure the quality and reliability of our aerial and ground based systems. The team works on the Altius air vehicle and develops complex manufacturing test solutions to our internal manufacturing team or contract manufacturers. We work closely and cross-functionally with the rest of our Product Engineering groups that include Electrical, Mechanical and Firmware Engineering to solve and improve our manufacturing process, product quality and reliability.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Support Altius factory build by working directly with manufacturing personnel to quickly root cause and resolve production test issues.
- Perform work using drawings, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions.
- Perform repairs, upgrades and reworks of production test fixtures and stations.
- Implement preventive maintenance measures on test fixtures and stations to minimize production downtime and interruption.
- Fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses
- Travel to 3rd party contract manufacturers (CMs) to troubleshoot/debug electrical and mechanical issues they have executing functional tests on Anduril supplied testers.
- Execute and support set up and utilize standard test equipment, including power supplies, DAQs, spectrum analyzers and digital multimeters.
- Perform harness build, circuit board electronic modifications, such as component rework, soldering/de-soldering of electronic components per industry standards.
- Minimum 3 years experience as an engineering technician working in a production test environment.
- Ability to read and understand complex PCBA schematics, cable assembly drawings, and test procedures, without the need to have detailed assembly instructions.
- Some experience with building and troubleshooting electro-mechanical hardware, such as PCBAs, cables and wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Experience with computer hardware communications protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, HDMI, CAN, etc.
- Knowledge of electrical components & connectors, familiar with basic hand tools and crimping equipment.
- Basic electrical understanding and understanding of fundamental electrical engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment such as DMMs, power supplies, function generators, etc.
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
- Associate level degree in electronics/electrical assembly or equivalent
- Strong understanding of PCBs, PCBAs, prototyping and assembly techniques
- Experience with electrical CAD tools such as Altium, Rapid Harness or other EWIS software
- Understanding of networking protocols including IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP…
