HDR is searching for a talented Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Water Business Group in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive experience in water and wastewater evaluation, analysis, design, and construction. They will be responsible for assisting with projects through planning, design, and construction phases. Project types could include water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure projects.
Additional duties could include technical investigation and analysis of various detailed studies and preparing reports relating water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and conveyance infrastructure and processes. They will support and advise project managers and technical staff in other disciplines and sections, complete technical analysis, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with sub-consultants, support senior staff to maintain project schedules and budgets, and produce documents in accordance with project scopes and quality program procedures.
In supporting the delivery of projects, they will engage in regular contact with clients regarding ongoing projects and tasks while also managing and leading specific tasks under the direction of senior staff. Occasional field construction observation and coordination may also be required.
- A minimum of 3 years experience executing technical studies, analyses, and/or designing and creating plans and specifications for water focused projects
- Local candidates are preferred

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- Previous experience executing technical studies, analyses, and/or designing and creating plans and specifications for water focused projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Ability to make independent decisions and be accountable for the results
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
