Transportation Senior Project Engineer

Your Impact at Lowe Engineers:
Lowe Engineers is seeking a Transportation Senior Project Engineer to support our Transportation team in our Atlanta, GA office. This key role will oversee design production and provide senior-level engineering guidance on a range of roadway, sidewalk, shoulder, and drainage projects. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge of GDOT standards, leadership experience, and the ability to mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality design solutions to public and private clients across Georgia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as Senior Project Engineer on roadway and transportation projects
• Provide technical oversight and guidance on construction documents and designs
• Review and support design elements, including roadway geometry, drainage, signing and pavement markings, construction staging, and erosion control.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and design staff
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and consultants on project scope and requirements
• Assist with preparation of cost estimates, reports, and permit documentation
• Support project managers with scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control
• Contribute to proposal development and client presentations
• Ensure compliance with GDOT standards and applicable regulations
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project delivery on time and within budget

What You Bring to Lowe Engineers:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
• 15+ years of transportation and roadway design experience
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
• Proven experience with GDOT design standards and Plan Development Process
• Proficiency in Micro Station V8i/InRoads and Open Roads Designer
• Familiarity with local government and municipal transportation projects
• Experience in mentoring and leading technical teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• AutoCAD experience is a plus
• Willingness to work occasional overtime to meet project demands
