Process Engineering Lead - Water/Wastewater

Atlanta, Georgia

Garver is seeking an experienced professional engineer (PE) to join the Water/Wastewater Team located in Atlanta, GA or Greenville, SC. The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for leading water and wastewater projects from conceptual planning to bid‑ready documents. This includes facility and equipment layouts, design calculations, process modeling, equipment vendor coordination, management and coordination of support discipline activities, and coordination with regional offices and regulatory agencies, as well as performing quality reviews of other teams’ designs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a project team producing designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities and other ancillary infrastructure associated with water and wastewater projects
  • Design water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Develop design criteria from analysis of water and wastewater process‑modeling data
  • Support water and wastewater process evaluation, selection, and implementation
  • Perform hydraulic analysis of water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Design chemical storage and feed systems
  • Size blower systems and design blower systems
  • Produce piping and instrumentation drawings
  • Prepare specification and contract documents
  • Support construction projects
  • Oversee the development of construction drawings and 3D models
  • Assist the Process Group Leader in managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products that adhere to Garver standards
  • Travel may be required for field work for site assessment and support during construction
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/agricultural engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
  • 10+ years of direct design experience of water/wastewater treatment facilities
  • Experience with biological modeling software such as Bio Win, GPS‑X, and Sumo
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Preferred Attributes
  • Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or a related engineering discipline
  • Experience working with a multi‑disciplinary team comprised of civil, structural, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control disciplines
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with multi‑disciplinary project teams
  • Active participation in local professional organizations
  • Experience using Bluebeam and MS Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
