CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Principal Transmission Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing – Electric Transmission & Substations Team at our Atlanta, GA office.

CHA’s dedicated team of electric transmission and substation professionals prioritizes safety and technical excellence - from initial surveying and assessment to planning, permitting, research, and comprehensive design and engineering. We are committed to delivering top-tier solutions for both new and existing electrical power infrastructure. We specialize in all types and the full spectrum of power delivery systems. Whether it's AC or DC, overhead or underground, submarine, or indoor/outdoor installations, we cover it all.

Our expertise extends to various insulation mediums, including air, gas, liquid, or solid, catering to transmission, distribution, and generation needs. We seamlessly handle AC/DC conversion across diverse applications, from traditional fossil fuels to cutting-edge renewable energy projects, and our proficiency extends to working with electrical-mechanical systems, seamlessly transitioning from legacy to intelligent protection and control systems. Our recognition in the industry is a testament to our prowess in automation, SCADA, communication design, and engineering.

The Principal Transmission Engineer has considerable engineering knowledge in their respective field and may provide leadership for their work group based on their extensive experience. The individual in this role is responsible for providing guidance and oversight to multiple teams working on numerous projects. The Principal Transmission Engineer oversees all phases of a technical project from conception and design to completion, while providing engineering guidance to other departments and training new engineering staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering required;
  Master's degree preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum 15 years’ progressive engineering experience required
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
• Proficiency with MS Office software required
• Understands QA/QC procedures and basic business practices as well as laws related to engineering
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, Micro Station, etc.)
• Completely familiar with and advocates for the company’s standards for quality control and compliance
• Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of fundamentals in specialty areas
• An active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
• Proven ability to lead a team

$150,000 - $160,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
