Transportation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer with 5-20 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in roadway design, as well as a solid understanding of DOT standards and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects across the state.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage roadway design projects from planning to construction
• Collaborate with DOT to ensure project compliance with state guidelines and regulations
• Prepare and review design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Conduct traffic analysis and provide solutions to improve transportation efficiency and safety
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, planners, and contractors
• Manage client relationships and maintain project schedules and budgets
• Mentor junior engineers and assist with technical development

Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina
• 5-20 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on roadway design
• Strong knowledge of DOT design standards and procedures
• Proficient in industry design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Micro Station, Civil 3D)
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
