Electrical Project Engineer – Hazen & Sawyer

- Design medium and low voltage power distribution, including generator design, motor controls, VFDs, lighting, and equipment layout for water and wastewater facilities.
- Prepare project specifications and edit corporate electrical master specifications.
- Serve as lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget compliance.
- Perform site visits from conceptual design through construction.
- Conduct electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Perform power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP.
- Manage construction administration tasks: review shop drawings, respond to RFI, change orders, and related tasks.
- Conduct factory witness testing and participate in field testing and startup of electrical systems.
- Represent the electrical discipline in client project meetings and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Mentor less experienced electrical staff.
- Assist in business development, including proposal preparation and project scope/fee documentation.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- 5–14 years of heavy industrial electrical engineering experience.
- Registered professional engineer in at least one U.S. state; ability to obtain licensing in additional states.
- Experience with SKM or ETAP power system software.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills for client, contractor, and inter‑disciplinary interactions.
- Experience in the Water/Wastewater industry.
- Experience with Bluebeam software and Bluebeam Studio.
- Experience with instrumentation and control systems (PLCs, operator interfaces, and instruments).
