Overview
Quality Control Inspector - Traveling - Industrial at Sundt Construction. Sundt is a 100% employee-owned contractor where everyone is part owner and invested in the work. Responsibilities- Assists material handling personnel with required material storage and PM requirements as needed.
- Communicates inspection results and recommends corrective procedures.
- Participates in activities to support the company s strategic planning efforts.
- Participates in the preparation of Quality Control ITP.
- Performs control measuring and tests equipment.
- Verifies the installation of systems, components and equipment in accordance with the assigned discipline.
- 1+ year construction practices
- 1+ year in quality control inspection discipline
- HS Degree Required
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Structural Inspection: knowledge of AISC, AWS D1.1, AWS D1.6; bolt-up inspection; CWI certification preferred; work in elevated areas; knowledge of architectural, insulation and lagging, grout and concrete placement, epoxy anchor installation inspection.
- Electrical and Instrumentation Inspection: knowledge of ICEA, IEEE, ISA, NEC, NEMA, NESC, NFPA codes and standards.
- Mechanical Inspection: setting and alignment of static and rotating equipment, use of measuring tools, dial indicators and laser alignment devices.
- Piping Inspection: pipe installation inspection, welding, supports, instrumentation; CWI certification preferred.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist, stoop, kneel or bend, on occasion.
- Use of telephone, computer, and other electronic devices as needed.
- Must comply with all safety standards and procedures; occasional climbing of stairs or ladders.
- Manual dexterity to grasp, lift, carry or feel objects frequently; may lift, push or pull objects occasionally.
- Will sit, stand or walk for extended periods during a shift.
