Job DescriptionJoin CDM Smith’s Transportation team in Atlanta, GA! Our goal is to improve the long‑term mobility of people and goods through projects that include roads, bridges, structures, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and public transit.
Responsibilities- Develop large‑scale projects such as highways, tunnels, mass transit, and advanced designs to meet client requirements.
- Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and sign off on completed designs.
- Ensure firm policies and practices are followed and that engineering designs are signed and sealed as necessary.
- Conduct site reviews and studies to align designs with location specifications.
- Update design requirements as needed and inspect new construction and existing transportation structures.
- Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs.
- Review draft proposals for adherence to regulations, best practices, and firm standards.
- Meet with current and future clients to review design needs.
- Attend conferences and symposia to promote firm products and services.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, mentoring and developing them for future growth. May supervise junior engineers’ work.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
7 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency varies with workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience with Civil 3D.
Travel5% domestic or international travel required.
