Overhead Transmission Line Engineer

Overview

The successful candidate will perform, lead, and oversee all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis, and developing design criteria.

• Perform, lead, and oversee all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design.
• Prepare specifications for construction, hardware, and material for high voltage overhead transmission lines.
• Prepare construction drawings and cost estimates for high voltage overhead transmission lines.
• Provide instruction and guidance to less experienced staff members.
• Lead teams of engineers and be a primary interface between engineers and clients.

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering from accredited program is required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience with routing and design of high voltage overhead transmission line facilities (completion of master s degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
• Preferred:
  Professional certification, EIT, and/or a professional engineer licensure.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in 69kV to 500kV line design and working knowledge and/or expertise in Power Line system-based programs (i.e., PLS, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc.) preferred.
• Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
