ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Building Engineer.

The Building Engineer supports the designated leadership with the daily operations of all building systems. This includes hard surface maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, and operating, maintaining and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems. The Building Engineer will also respond to customer requests, submit and close work orders as necessary, and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Building Engineer to join our facilities team at a premier commercial office property. The Building Engineer will work under the direction of the Chief Engineer, supporting the day‑to‑day operations, maintenance, and repair of building systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and tenant satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to tenant service requests and troubleshoot building systems to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems.
  • Support the Chief Engineer in coordinating vendor services, managing work orders, and maintaining compliance with safety and building codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory.
  • Participate in emergency response procedures and on‑call rotations as needed.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and building staff to ensure seamless operations and a safe working environment.
  • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability improvements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in building systems preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance or engineering.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Certifications such as EPA Universal, LEED, or trade licenses are a plus.

Salary: $25 – $27 per hour.
