Role DescriptionArcadis seeks an experienced structural engineer to join our ever‑growing Design and Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with a remote team and will have experience in facility design for United States federal agencies. This hybrid role can be performed anywhere in the United States where Arcadis has an office.
Role Accountabilities- Organize and conduct structural related engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work within a well‑defined scope.
- Develop calculations, plans, specifications, proposals, and other contract documents.
- Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Apply knowledge of all building codes and such as IBC, ACI, AISC, etc., and federal agency standards such as UFC, UFGS, etc.
- Work directly with engineering disciplines, office/project staff, clients and sub‑contractors across the project life cycle, providing clear oral and written communication and coordinating meetings and reports.
- Perform technical work at increased levels of complexity with senior review.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior structural engineers on small or medium projects.
- Travel and participate in project‑related activities such as client meetings, charrettes, and site visits as required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience, including 5+ years on federal projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience producing Issued for Construction design packages for federal agency facilities.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in the United States; multiple state licenses are preferred.
- Functional knowledge and experience with AutoCAD/REVIT, Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.
- Strong structural analysis and design skills with software such as Risa, STAAD Pro, etc.
- Experience with Federal Design Criteria including Specs Intact and the Whole Building Design Guide.
- Strong communication skills related to presentations, project communications, and written documents.

The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $165,000, with actual salaries based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
