Senior Telecommunications Engineer

Location:

United States (any location). Ideal candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S. based office.

Base pay range

Overview

Responsibilities
  • lead BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings
  • create or modify DIV 27 specifications
  • conduct site visits
  • review technical documents
  • mentor team members
  • manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • sign and seal telecommunications design packages
  • identify processes to improve departmental efficiency
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college
  • Minimum 8 years of experience actively designing or leading designs of telecommunications structured cabling systems
  • Proficient with ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards, NFPA 70, Bluebeam, RFP responses
  • Excellent project management skills and quality assurance of telecom systems designed by others
  • Experience in start‑up and commissioning of telecommunications systems; creating budgets and schedules; identifying and mitigating risks
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (multiple PE licenses preferred)
Ideal Additional Experience
  • 4+ years telecommunications design in data centers
  • Experience working on low‑voltage systems: security, A/V, wireless
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design platforms
  • Experience with telecom infrastructure for controls and security systems
  • Knowledge of CSI or AIA spec writing procedures
  • Credential as a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
