Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer responsible for the design of digital and mixed‑signal PCBs for Q‑SYS networked audio/video product lines. Key responsibilities include component selection, schematic capture, circuit modelling, PCB layout, hands‑on prototype development and debugging, resolution of EMC and regulatory issues, as well as comprehensive testing and validation of designs.
You will collaborate with a cross‑functional team comprising mechanical, firmware, test, and manufacturing engineers, as well as program managers and supply‑chain professionals. This position requires a self‑driven individual with strong problem‑solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record of delivering results.
Location:
Ft. Wayne, IN (minimal domestic travel required).
- Designs and implements digital and mixed‑signal circuits for professional audio/video products.
- Responsible for end‑to‑end PCB design including component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, hardware documentation release, board bring‑up, test, debug, and system integration.
- Performs circuit simulation and signal/power integrity simulation.
- Evaluates audio performance of components and systems.
- Conducts design reviews and provides design feedback to peers.
- Creates and documents test plans for design qualification.
- Carries out design verification and validation activities, documenting detailed findings in the form of qualification reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Graduate
Preferred Education (i.e. type of degree)Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Skills and Minimum Experience Required4+ years of experience designing, troubleshooting, and testing digital and mixed‑signal circuits (embedded designs for the audio/video market preferred).
- Experience using CAD tools for schematic entry and layout (Altium preferred).
- Hands‑on proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, protocol analyzers, Audio Precision.
- Knowledge of microprocessor‑based embedded systems is required.
- Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, I2S, PCIe, USB, etc.
- Experience implementing design techniques to ensure the best possible signal integrity and power integrity.
- Experience generating and releasing hardware documentation (BOM, Gerbers, etc.) required.
- Exceptional analytical and creative problem‑solving capabilities.
- Experience with simulation tools (Hyper Lynx, SPICE, etc.) is preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and test methods including UL, FCC, CE, and others is a plus.
- Experience working with offshore ODM and contract manufacturers is a plus.

The range for this position is $66,500 to $119,700. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
