I help startups scale | AI/ML/CV/EE | Robotics, Defense & Aerospace | Series A-IPO |We are seeking an experienced Computer Vision Engineer to join our onsite team in Atlanta, GA
, focused on developing and deploying autonomous drone systems
. This role is highly hands‑on and requires deep experience working directly with UAV hardware and embedded compute platforms
, integrating perception algorithms into real‑world autonomous flight systems.
You will work closely with robotics, flight controls, and hardware teams to design, implement, and optimize computer vision pipelines that operate reliably in real‑time, safety‑critical environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deploy computer vision algorithms for autonomous UAVs, including detection, tracking, localization, and navigation
- Integrate vision systems with Ardu Pilot‑based flight stacks and autonomy frameworks
- Develop and optimize CV and ML pipelines on NVIDIA Jetson platforms (e.g., Xavier, Orin)
- Interface vision outputs with Cube Orange flight controllers and onboard sensors
- Optimize performance for real‑time, low‑latency execution under power and compute constraints
- Conduct field testing, flight testing, debugging, and performance tuning on live UAV systems
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with controls, autonomy, firmware, and mechanical teams
- Document system architecture, experiments, and deployment workflows
- 3+ years of professional experience in computer vision engineering or robotics
- Strong UAV‑specific background
, including: - Native experience with Ardu Pilot
- Hands‑on development in the NVIDIA Jetson ecosystem
- Integration with Cube Orange (or similar Pixhawk‑based) flight controllers
- Proficiency in C++ and Python
- Experience with OpenCV
, CUDA, and real‑time vision pipelines - Strong understanding of camera models, calibration, and sensor fusion
- Experience deploying perception systems on embedded Linux platforms
- Comfortable working onsite and participating in hardware integration and flight tests
- Experience with SLAM, visual odometry, or VIO
- Familiarity with ROS / ROS 2
- Experience with deep‑learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensor
RT) - Knowledge of UAV regulations and flight safety best practices
- Background in multi‑sensor fusion (IMU, GPS, LiDAR)
