Position: Electrical Engineer - RF Designer (Auburn, AL)

IS4S is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware Electrical Engineer with expertise in high-speed, embedded, and RF electronics for military projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of advanced hardware systems, contributing to the success of mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF, embedded, and high-speed electronics for sensing, communication, and other equipment.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, analysis, and simulation for new hardware designs, ensuring compliance with military standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Generate detailed hardware specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts for advanced hardware boards.
  • Perform prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation of RF and power electronics systems.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.
  • Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and software for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE).
  • Experience with testing and validation of hardware systems, including thermal and environmental testing.
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications related to hardware design.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with wireless design and basic principles of RF and antenna theory.
  • Understanding of electronics thermal management.
  • Experience with software-defined radios (SDR) and frameworks, such as GNU Radio.
  • Coding skills with VHDL and C/C++.
  • Design and analysis experience using industry standard tools (COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB, Python, etc).
