Role OverviewLocation:
Atlanta, GA, with frequent travel to McDonough, GA plant (under construction). We are seeking an experienced Multi‑Site Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our safety and compliance programs across our corporate headquarters and commercial manufacturing facility in Atlanta, GA and our expanding manufacturing facility in McDonough, GA. This is a highly visible role that ensures we maintain the highest standards of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship while supporting our mission of operational excellence and growth.
The EHS Manager will be responsible for building, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of EHS strategy, policies, and programs, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). This leader will partner closely with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to foster a proactive, safety‑first culture across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Process Safety Management (PSM) Leadership – Design, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive OSHA PSM‑compliant system for chemical manufacturing operations.
- Own and manage Management of Change (MOC), Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and Operating Procedures.
- Develop and manage contractor PSM integration for construction, maintenance, and turnaround activities.
- Partner with Engineering to ensure process safety is embedded in design, scale‑up, and technology transfer.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to develop emergency response plans and risk assessments for manufacturing operations.
- Champion a culture of accountability, safety, and environmental responsibility.
- Chemical Manufacturing & High‑Hazard Operations – Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA, Hazard Communication, Chemical Hygiene requirements and state/local regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, inspections, and audits.
- Lead chemical risk assessments, including chemical compatibility, release scenarios, and consequence modeling.
- Startup, Scale‑Up & Capital Projects – Lead process safety readiness for new units, expansions, and greenfield startup.
- Participate in design reviews (P&IDs, process flow diagrams, relief sizing, safeguards).
- Ensure safety‑critical documentation and training are complete prior to startup.
- Conduct and oversee EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
- Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement – Establish process safety KPIs (leading and lagging indicators) and routinely communicate performance to leadership.
- Lead root cause investigations for process safety incidents and near misses.
- Drive continuous improvement using lessons learned, audits, and industry best practices.
