Job Description & How to Apply Below

AVOMO is the autonomous vehicle arm of the Moove Cars group, specializing in the maintenance and operations of self-driving fleets. Our mission is to make urban mobility safer, more efficient, and sustainable. Backed by deep experience in fleet management, we deliver innovative solutions that drive the future of transportation.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands‑on EHS Specialist to be the on‑site safety leader for our Atlanta depot operations. This role executes our safety programs in the field—conducting inspections, leading training, engaging employees, managing environmental compliance, and ensuring the site operates safely every day. You will work autonomously and serve as the primary contact for all safety and environmental matters on site.

Key Responsibilities 1. Site Safety Leadership & Execution
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all environmental, health, and safety issues in Atlanta.
  • Execute the implemented EHS programs and ensure employees are following proper procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Monitor on‑site vendors (cleaners, security, maintenance) to ensure they are following Avomo’s "Multi‑Employer Worksite" safety protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near‑mises; perform root‑cause analysis and track corrective actions.
2. Inspections, Audits & Compliance
  • Prepare for partner (Waymo/Uber) and regulatory audits. Take full ownership of any EHS‑related non‑conformances or findings for Atlanta sites, creating action plans to fix issues and tracking them to closure.
  • Manage chemical/waste storage, labeling, and disposal in compliance with EPA and state regulations.
  • Conduct regular Atlanta facility inspections and targeted spot checks. Document findings and work with the Operations team to address hazards immediately.
  • Maintain EHS documentation (inspections, training, waste, audits, incidents).
3. Employee Engagement & Training
  • Chair various Safety Committees. Set the agenda, facilitate monthly meetings with cross‑functional staff, and track action items to closure.
  • Promote a "Just Culture" by encouraging safety reporting. Walk the floor daily to engage with the team, answer questions, and recognize safe behaviors.
  • Develop and deliver new‑hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training.
  • Plan and execute site‑specific Emergency Action Plan (EAP) drills (Fire, Severe Weather, Shelter‑in‑Place). Evaluate performance and implement improvements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, spill kits, thermal blankets) and facilities to ensure 100% readiness.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field (or equivalent years of technical experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in transportation, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing.
  • Experience working autonomously or as a solo site safety rep is a major plus.
  • Experience working in the technology or transportation sectors and can thrive in extremely fast‑paced environments.
  • Experience leading emergency drills and incident investigations.
  • Experience managing contractor and vendor safety.
  • Autonomy: Ability to identify a problem and fix it without waiting for direction. You are comfortable being the "Safety Authority" on site.
  • Influence: Ability to enforce rules and correct behaviors with operations teams while maintaining positive, collaborative relationships.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Training Ability: Comfortable speaking in front of groups and teaching practical skills.
  • Organization: Highly organized with excellent time management skills and ability to collaborate with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Agility: Willingness to be flexible, jump in wherever needed, and work in a changing and ambiguous environment.
Certifications
  • CSP, ASP, GSP, or similar credential.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour General Industry certification required.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (Instructor level is a plus).
  • RCRA/DOT Hazardous Waste training is a plus.

If you’re looking to make an impact in a fast‑paced, innovative environment, we encourage you to apply and be part of a team driving the future of transportation.
