Position: Commissioning Authority Level 2 (Electrical)

JOB SUMMARY

The primary role of a Commissioning Authority Level 2 (CxA
2) is to provide and support project commissioning services for a wide variety of projects ranging from office buildings, education facilities, healthcare environments, laboratories, research facilities, data centers, etc. The CxA 2 will gain valuable testing skills as they develop troubleshooting and communication strategies needed for deficiency resolution.

SKILLS, DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Perform and document design reviews
  • Review contractor submittals for commissioned systems
  • Conduct on-site construction inspections and complete associated reports
  • Identify, track, and reconcile non-compliance issues discovered during inspections
  • Create pre-functional test scripts
  • Create functional performance test scripts
  • Conduct functional performance testing
  • Identify, track, and lead reconciliation of non-compliance issues discovered during testing
  • Written communication and report writing
  • Ability to use analytical tools and test equipment
  • Ability to work self-directed
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents, controls and instrumentation documents, and electrical wiring diagrams
MINIMUM COMPLETED TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS
  • Ability to obtain commissioning authority certification within 2 years of initial employment
  • OSHA 10 safety training course completion (within 6 months of hire)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university OR equivalent applicable industry experience (6 years)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to obtain EIT
  • Ability to obtain PE
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
  • Regular travel to local and out of town project sites and meetings will be required
  • Travel schedules are driven by project requirements and will sometimes require 50-60% of your time committed to out of town projects
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments; must also be able to drive in various conditions to conduct work.
  • Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to construction, mechanical and electrical-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and to negotiate work areas under construction.
