Position Overview

Stratus is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our Civic Market team in Atlanta, Georgia. This role will focus on the planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, and conveyance system projects, supporting both municipal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader and mentor, playing a key role in advancing high-quality solutions for critical infrastructure challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design and delivery of water distribution, wastewater collection, and conveyance system projects (pipelines, pump stations, treatment plant connections, etc.).
• Provide technical expertise in hydraulic modeling, infrastructure design, and system optimization.
• Oversee the preparation of engineering studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, environmental specialists, surveyors, and construction managers.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development.
• Engage with clients to identify needs, develop solutions, and build long-term relationships.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in pipeline design, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
• Strong understanding of municipal utility standards, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
