Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centers & Critical Systems

Apex is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, construction, and commissioning of large-scale data centers and other mission‑critical facilities. This role is ideal for someone with deep technical expertise in electrical power systems and hands‑on experience across the full project lifecycle—from concept to operations.

• Review electrical systems for data centers and critical facilities, from utility service entrance to rack‑level distribution.
• Conduct technical due diligence and evaluate multi‑tenant or colocation sites for acquisition and integration.
• Lead and manage power system design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Analyze and optimize redundancy, reliability, and load distribution in electrical designs (SPOF, Tier classification, uptime targets).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, controls, civil, IT, and operations) to ensure fully integrated designs.
• Review shop drawings, sequences of operation, and equipment submittals for compliance with various client specifications and standards.
• Maintain and continuously improve design standards, specifications, and QA/QC processes.
• Support energy strategy and capacity planning across regional and international data center projects.

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (required); M.S. and/or P.E. license (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in data center or mission‑critical facility design and construction.
• Expertise in power system design, modeling, and analysis using tools like ETAP, SKM, or Easy Power.
• Knowledge of U.S. electrical codes (IEC familiarity a plus).
• Experience with colocation, hyperscale, or enterprise data centers.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to ~30%).
