Position Reports ToOperations Manager
Responsibilities- Support the full lifecycle of ABB pulp-and-paper quality control products at ABB customer facilities under general supervision, including preventive and corrective maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of proprietary ABB hardware and software.
- Assist with projects, upgrades, new installations and advanced services for the technician's assigned customer or region.
- Work independently or as part of a small site team to provide service for customers of ABB pulp-and-paper quality control solutions.
- Maintain ABB's suite of quality control hardware and software: clean debris from sensors, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with the frame and sensor package, troubleshoot the computer system and HMI/control software, and keep the entire solution operational at site.
- Handle customer service-related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on‑site. Communicate directly with plant operators, plant management, 3rd‑party vendors and other ABB personnel in support of service operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment applying own technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems. Basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety is required for training.
- When required, play an active role in projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers; coordinate work with other groups to ensure commitments are met.

Qualifications- Associate’s Degree in a related field and 8 years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related work/military experience required, or HS Diploma and 10 years of related work/military experience required.
- Must know how to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multi‑meters safely.
- Mechanical/Electrical aptitude is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools.
- Ability to diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment.
- Know how to identify voltage systems that are above the level 240 VAC/870 VDC so they can safely avoid contact.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and utilize them for troubleshooting electrical systems is required.
