Flexible Metal is a fast growing company providing quality parts to the auto industry worldwide. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Manager to be based out of our Tucker, GA.
SummaryResponsible for process design and development of new product launch with attention to providing deliverables that are on-time and within budget. Continuous Improvement of existing manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practice standards within the organization.
EssentialRoles and Responsibilities
- General knowledge of tube forming operations including bending, trimming, end forming, hydro forming, brazing, MIG/TIG/Laser welding, leak rate and dimensional testing.
- Support full project implementation with understanding of APQP practices, customer deliverables, timing, and providing related documents.
- Assist in capital procurement: develop and write specifications, performance requirements, and proposals.
- Track and provide updates on equipment builds, perform on-site evaluation and buy‑off.
- Track and provide updates on tooling and fixture builds, solicit integration services as required.
- Lead production capacity activities including operator training, burst builds, and Run at Rates.
- Collaborate with quality department utilizing core tools: PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC.
- Participate in addressing customer concerns/corrective actions: 8D, 5‑Why, etc.
- Assist Production and Quality departments with standard work activities, conducting time studies, and workflow evaluation.
- Conduct line balancing evaluation and improvement kaizen activities addressing flow constraints, takt time improvements, scrap reduction, implementing Poka‑Yoke, and cell layout optimization.
- Generate cell layouts utilizing CAD software with attention to Safety, Ergonomics, and 5S practices.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering and Quality in design and gauging reviews.
- Provide assistance in research and development projects and prototype builds.
- Contribute to a safe working environment by providing solutions to concerns and implementing ergonomic improvements as needed.
- Support day‑to‑day production issues as required.
- Adhere to all company policies.

- Excellent interpersonal skills; an effective listener/speaker who can convey technical information to peers, superiors, and management through presentations, meetings, and reports.
- Proficient computer skills, knowledge of Windows‑based programs, database management, and word processing.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; and/or a Certificate of Qualification in Tool and Die, with Project Management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in small to large automotive tooling and welding manufacturing processes.
