Job Description Summary
The Monitoring and Diagnostics (M&D) Center in GE Vernova Gas Power is one of the largest power generation monitoring facilities in the world. Monitoring over 900 power plants and 3,000 turbines, the primary objective of this team is to make recommendations that directly impact customer availability, reliability, thermal efficiency, or outage planning.
The Monitoring and Diagnostics Engineer is the frontline engineer in this process. They review turbine operational data and alarms to identify power plant trends and abnormalities, and work closely with both internal and external customers to achieve these objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities- Provide technical recommendations to customers that are accurate, high‑quality, and delivered in a timely fashion to meet customer needs and business goals.
- Use engineering skills to troubleshoot urgent turbine technical issues remotely.
- Review and analyze customer operational data in tabular and graphical format.
- Interface with a variety of internal technical teams on operational issues requiring further technical review.
- Communicate in writing and verbally with customers to ensure operational concerns are fully understood.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop new solutions that meet customer needs.
- Generate and implement new ideas for improved coverage of the GE Fleet of power generation equipment and improved productivity of operations center activities.
- Gain an understanding of GE’s products, capabilities, and limitations in sufficient detail to contribute to new or existing offerings that meet customer needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- 1+ years of related work experience.
- Eligibility to work evening (3 pm‑11 pm) or night (11 pm‑7 am) shifts, including holidays and non‑standard weekends.
- Proven track record of delivering results in a dynamic business environment.
- Experience demonstrating technical knowledge and understanding of Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and generator systems.
- Self‑directed with demonstrated leadership and problem‑solving skills.
- Displays good interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives.
- PC proficiency.
For U.S. based candidates only, the base pay range is $71,600.00 – $ USD per year. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and skill set. The position is also eligible for a 5% annual performance bonus and a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. This position will remain open through at least November 14, 2025.
